24 January to 03 February 2012 — Pitch a Project
Think of a project that can do that will showcase the skills that you have learned in Desktop

your talents.

start your original design by hand and then scan in your work, that can be done. Your
final design should be 5-inches by 5-inches.

as a pdf will not be graded.

A History of Logo Design
A logo is a sign, symbol, trademark or badge which conveys the identity or ownership
of a product, company, campaign or concept in as memorable a way as possible.
A logo should be simple so that it retains its clarity of design in different contexts.
If it is too complicated, its details may be lost when it is reduced in scale. Also, a
simple logo design is faster to read, easier to remember and consequently more instantly
identifiable.
Artyfactory is the work of John MacTaggart, an art teacher from Glasgow, Scotland. He
offers free art lessons in a number of disciplines. Working with a partner, please go
through the lessons
in preparation to design your own logos.
09 January 2012 — Logo Games and Quizzes
Logos are everywhere around us, everyday. You see them but do you really see them.
You think you know one car, TV, or computer company logo from another. But will you
recognize that same logo if you're shown only a small piece of it? Can you spot the
real from the fake? Whether you rely on color, font, shape, or some other element you
can have fun and test your logo identification skills with these games and quizzes.
About.com has a number of
Logo Games and Quizzes for you to check your skill.

06-08 September 2011 — Contrast, Repetition, Alignment, Proximity
These principals are interconnected and have been culled from the vast morass (something that hinders,
engulfs, or overwhelms) of design theory by Robin Williams, not of Mrs. Doubtfire fame, but the
author of several best-selling, award-winning books. Williams has a knack for taking technical
or esoteric (understood by only a particular group) information and making it easily accessible.
View the PowerPoint ®
